Life
Life before the Military, I attended school in Detroit, could'nt find a job in 1955 decided to join Uncle Sam and see the world. This bring me to Fort Mccellan, Ala The Women's Army Corps, from there I was sent to the magic place Fot Lenord Wood Mo. and everyone knows about that place. I extended my tour to get away form there.(smile, I left there and headed Far East to Yokohama, Japan after some months I fell ill and was soon shipped home. I lost contact with all my good buddies that I served with except two and they live in Detroit, Mich. sad to say I have lost touth with Barbara Orr who served with us at Fort Lenord Wood, Mo.
I came home with a medical disibality and went to college and received a BA degree and later worked with the Detroit Public School where I taught elementary school for the last 18 years and recently retired, but now work as a visiting t...Expand for more
eacher at least three or four day sometime when ever a school need extra teachers. I volunteer two days a week at the John D. Dingell Vereran Hospital, in Detroit, I am the current President of The Women's Veterans Association, Wolverian Chapter 67, I also belong to the National WAC's Organization, the The Black WAC's Association, I am a Member of the NAACP, a part of the Freedon Fund Dinner each year and a member of AARP, I serve as the Secretary,a member of Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel, Board member of the Scholoship fund for Detroit Federation of Teachers. I attend St. John C.M. E. Church. I have two daughters they are both married and one has two childen a girl 10 and a son 5 years old. They have well rounded lives and I am very happy with their progress in the society. I am enjoying life I do some traveling and enjoy all that God has given me thus far.
