Okay, so what happened after high school? I went to OSU-Okmulgee and graduated with an associate's degree in graphic design. I married the girl I was dating in high school, Angela Fletcher, who I knew through church. We've been married for thirty years (as of 11/2025) and have two daughters: Jillian and Elise, both adults now. Between finishing college and getting married, I started working as a creative in a small advertising agency in Tulsa. I've bounced around from ad agencies to in-house design jobs before landing where I am now. Two things drove me to leave ad agency work: stress and depression. I lived at my office, so I didn't spend much time at home with my wife and children. I also hit a ceiling in my advancement and couldn't understand why I was being passed by my peers. More than a decade of those two things working on me, I'd gone to a very dark place. Being the idiot I was, I didn't talk to anyone about it nor did I seek any professional help. I became suicidal for a few years. I made a few big mistakes and finally everything in my life shattered... and it was my own fault. When everything was thrown into the air, I went to the one sure thing I knew; Jesus Christ. I brought nothing but a destroyed life and asked Him for a redo. I now have a super strong (and very honest) life, marriage, sense of self worth, and direction. One of those experiences where I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy but I also wouldn't trade it for a million dollars. I thought I was in hell (literally) but now I've come out on the other side a better me. The experience showed me some changes needed to be made.
