Erthia L.'s Story
Erthia L. is from Mobile, Alabama. Erthia L.'s schools include Central High School, Dunbar Junior High School. AF Owens, Boad Street and Council elementary schools.
I served two three year enlistments in the United States Marine Corps (USMC). After my first enlistment in the USMC I was employed at Delchamps In Chicasaw and Standard Oil in Mobile. I attended 20th Century Business College. I re-enlisted in the USMC , stationed at Camp LeJeune NC. After my second enlistment I received an Honorable discharge from the USMC. I attended Spaulding Business College in Mobile and was employed at Brookley Air Force Base.. Brookley AFB was scheduled to be closed I transferred to McClellan AFB in Sacramento, California..
At McClellan I worked in the following jobs: warehouseman work helper, warehouseman, and material verifier. While working full time I attended the following colleges and universities: American River College, Sacramento (AA Social Science) ,California State University ( BA in Psychology), University Of LaVerne (MS School Counseling), University of Northern California, Lorenzo Patino School of Law (Torts, Criminal Law, Contracts and Agency) , Rocky Mountain College (Professional Education) , University California at Davis (Learning Disabilities) . Graduate course at Sacramento State (Early Childhood Education).
After my retirement worked at Grant Joint Union High School District as a "Work Experience Counselor". I ran for and was Elected to the Grant Joint Union High School District Board of Trustees in 1992 (votes received set a record for most votes received in the Grant District school Board Election) I served for eight years (thru 2000.) Served as Board President for three years or more.
