Eugene's Story

One week after high school graduation ,I moved to Pittsfield,Ma. and started working at General Electriclater that year. I graduated from a 4 year toolmaking apprenticeship in 1951 and then spent 2 years in the U.S. army. Returning to GE I became a tool designer and then a tool planner. I married in 1954 and entered GEs management training program in 1955. After training assignments in Syracuse,NY;Auburn,Ny;Cincinnatti,Oh;Ft.Wayne,In;and Cleveland,Oh. I moved to Morrison,Il. in 1959. I have been in manufacturing engineering and management there untill retiring in1990. ,I have 6 grown children and 16 grandchildren and have now been married ...Expand for more
for well over 50 years. We have travelled quite a bit including all 50 states and several foreign countries. One of the highlites was attending a class reunion in Sacramento. Health issues hsve slowed our travels but we do keep busy and will never stop cheering for my beloved McClatchy Lions. Love to hear from anyone who renmembers me. June 2011 is here and I am still looking at the good side of the grass. Went to Florida this year and am going to Germany in July to see my son who is a Lt, C, in the army engineers, Jan.3012 Now enjoying life at home here in Morrison. Health problens have slowed my travels but I am still a Lion for life.
