Faith's Story
Greetings everyone!
I left Sterling in 1976 as I went to Grand Rapids Michigan to study at Reformed Bible College (RBC). Graduated in 1980 with a Bachelor of Religious Education (major Bible/Theology, minor Music). I stayed on at the college for 2 years on staff (and studied while there ... finished 1 course short of having my Social Work minor as an additional minor).
My time at RBC was cut short when I had to have a cyst and tumour removed from my brain in Feb 1982. Both were benign and it was very clear to me that I was alive for a purpose. So after healing and leaving the college staff I joined Wycliffe Bible Translators (WBT) as a support worker. While in Dallas Texas serving with WBT I met Graeme Costin (from Australia). We were married in August 1985 and moved to Australia in Feb 1986. We served with WBT in Darwin and that's were our two sons (Doug 1987 & Johnny 1989). In 1996 we moved back to Sydney to help maintain Graeme's mum and aunty in their own home. Graeme has continued to work part time with the mission and I'm working full-time as the Office Administrator and Pastoral Associate to the Rector at a local Anglican Church. The aunty has passed away and now we're living with mum (Beryl - 89 years in June).
Doug is 21 and works full time for a Frameless Glass Company and has a very special girl in his life named Ruby. Johnny finished high school at the end of 2007, he's in his GAP year and working part time. Johnny will be heading to university beginning in March 2009 going into engineering.
The 4 of us Graeme, Doug, Johnny and I were in Colorado for Thanksgiving and Christmas this last year. It was good to catch up with the Underhill family and some friends. It's wonderful to be back home and settled back into home, church, work and life.
