Farah's Story

Life During my teen age years we moved around a lot. We settled in Florida in 1985. There I went to college, lived on my own for the first time, Studied and played. I probably played a bit too much, but that is how I met and fell in love with my husband. Dennis was in the airforce. We both moved and had a long distance relationship for about a year. It was on a visit to see him the following summer that we really fell in love or admitted it. Any way we married and in 1990 I gave birth to our son.I was also going to school full time. That is really hard. So I finally after some real soul searching decided to put my career goals and college on hold. Raising our children became my full time passion. We moved back to my home state, Kentucky in 1992. Funny I used to see all these people that left Kentucky only to return. I would say when I get away from here I am never coming back! And here I am.It is a beautiful place. It must be in the blood or something. The land seems to draw you back time and time again. Too bad so much of the land is now being sold off for strip malls. A bit of sour grapes there. It was always a dream of mine to live on one of those beautiful horse farms. But I feel change in the air, a restlessness... I have been happily married 13 years. Dennis and I have three gorgeous children. I am a stay at home Mom. I am very busy with three active children. Dance lessons piano, saxophone, Violin, riding, voice, scouts. I keep them busy and they keep me busier! I raise, show, and groom poodles for a hobby. I still dance too; as do my girls. Also do a little freelance writing. I am also thinking of going back to school to finish my degree in mass communications minoring in journalism; now that all my babies are in school... I think it is time for me. Wow! That is a new concept; rather tintalating actually. ! Wow time sure flies by it is now 2007 I've been married almost 17 years now. I have two teenagers now. Moy son is a senior now. My oldest daughter is now 13 going on 16? My baby just turnned 9. It seems so surreal that my kids are not little anymore. It seems that they should still be toddling around after me. Not anymore they are growing into there own and they still need me but want me much less. Another milestone and right of passage for them. But I still want to hang on to the time I have with them beacuse before you know it they will be off leading their own lives. Aew.. Bittersweet comes to mind... Ha-ha I am getting very mushy in my still thirty somethings. I am going to hang on to that for as long as I can too Ha-ha... School Who was my biggest crush??? Cosidering I met my husband when I was 18 , I would have to say him.I secretly had a crush on him for about six months befo...Expand for more
re we started dating, the funny thing he had a crush on me too. We were going out with each others best friends. The teacher that most inspired me was Miss Emily Aspley. She was the greatest. She was so vibrant and made learning a lot of fun. She also had to have provided some of the happiest times too. I was in 3-5 grades. She would sometimes drive me home. Once I stayed after school to help her and a couple of the NUNS make candy. The funniest thing I remember was my god brother coming to school in 7th grade on picture day with a MOWHAWK!~ Ofcourse seeing and hearing a french Nun cursing a streak was pretty funny too. College I would like to say I have a masters degree. Well... I don't! I went to college a year ahead of my peers. I had a hard time making up my mind on what I wanted to study. First I studied nursing. Then my Granny was terminally ill;after that I just could not do it. So I did a big round about to Mass Communications with a minor in Journalism. That is where my talent lies. I loved it;Still do. I completed a Broadcasters school. After the birth of my first child,my son. I realized I would have to rethink my priorities. mass communications takes a lot of time. My time was now consumed with my greatest passion raising my child. I found I loved early childhood development. So I went to school for that I did get a cerification but no degree. After my second child was born, a daughter, I decided I wanted to be a fulltime Mom.After my third child I know that my decision was the right one.It has been a lot of sacrifice. But i have loved every minute with my children. I am a great MOTHER!!!!!!Another talent. Now that all three of my children are in school I am thinking about going back and finishing that degree in Mass Communications. Hmm.. I will think on that idea.... It is 2008 now. I just turnned 40! Good grief, there is a milestone for me!!! or is that millstone.Ha-ha. My son graduated from highschool in June.Summer flew by my girls went back to school 4th and 8th grade. I think time seems to be going by faster if that is possible. It is now 2010; I am now 40 something ha-ha. You know I am okay with that. People tell me I still look the same and ho do I do it.. So I must be doing someting right. I have now been married for 19 years. My kids are in college, highschool, and middle school. My hubby has his own company now for almost 5 years. Direct Systems Intergration. He bought me my dream car for Christmas a silver Jaguar. The economy that they tell us is getting better is not. Bussiness is slow. I have known people to loose their homes, go bancrupt, and divorce. So I guess we are lucky while struggling we are trudging along and our family is intact happy and strong.
