After attending Westminster College for three years, my ailing father passed away in May of 1976. Looking for a fresh start, my mother and I left Salt Lake City and to settle in Southern California. To my grief and sorrow, my mother passed away in September 1979. Suddenly, I found myself alone. My first big job was aerospace, working for Bendix in North Hollywood, CA. There I administered the benefits and later transferred to Sylmar, CA where I did new hire orientation, processed all new hire paperwork, including benefits. All debriefing and exit interviews came through me.
