Felecia's Story
Life
I am presently living in Knoxville, TN attending UT Knoxville for my PhD in nursing research with a concentration in Homeland Security. It is a tough course, but I think it will be rewarding when all is said and done.
I am still active duty attending the university on what the military call a long term health education and training (LTHET) option. They pay for the education and I pay them back in years. What a deal! The Army Nurse Corps has certainly been good to me and for me. That timid, quiet girl of the past no longer exist, but it is a good change. I presently hold the rank of Major and hope to make LTC before I retire. I presently have 23 years in the military and will probably have 30 when all is said and done.
As you can see from some of the pictures, the military has provided us the opportunity of seeing much of the world and I have certainly enjoyed the experience, but am glad to be back in the US. We have been all o...Expand for more
ver Germany, Spain, Ireland, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Norway, Denmak, Sweden, Austria, Italy, Poland and Czechoslovakia, not to mention our three years in Hawaii. I had the privilege of visiting the Berlin Wall before it was taken down and seeing a bit of a communist lifestyle. It was a bit unnerving to stand next to a Russian soldier with an AK47 fully loaded while visiting a antique store.
I am published in serveral journals and have participated in numerous research studies, two of which were my own.
Talon and I now have 24 years together and I cannot even imagine my live without him. Our children are all grown and out of the house. Yes!! Between us we have 6 grandchildren.
I have a cat named Hemione who is black with some white. Enjoy camping, reading and riding motorcycles. Yes, I wear leathers and have a bike of my own; an 1800 Goldwing, illusion red...go figure!!
I may be 54, but still feel 30 at heart.
