Florence's Story

After DHS and Danbury State... oh yeah... Western Connecticut... I taught for 8 years at St. Luke's in New Canaan and lived in Stamford. In 1968 I moved to Ontario, Canada . I became a Canadian citizen in 1973. Single when I emigrated, I met and married Murray Clapp in 1972. We had 3 children, 2 boys and a girl. Murray died in 1989 when the children were 8, 10, and 15 years old. I have 2 grandsons, ages 3 and 4. I taught to my retirement in 2001, when I moved to Toronto where I live in a co-op and have a very busy life. I do aquafit classes twice a week, subscribe to ...Expand for more
theatre, help with my grandsons, am on the Board of Directors for my housing co-op, and am active in a group called Women for African Grandmothers who raise funds and advocate on behalf of African women who are raising their grandchildren who have been orphaned by AIDS. I no longer keep a car in the city, but use a car club, public transit, and/or walk everywhere I need to go. I am blessed with very good health and a great family. I still have family and friends in Ct. and visit about once a year. I enjoyed the 50th reunion. Would love to hear from former classmates.
