Floyd's Story

It's time that I update. It has been a few years ..and time just keeps on rolling on. First off I am doing fine and trying to enjoy this new stage of my life. RETIREMENT. I took early retirement from State service. I was fortunate in various interesting avenues of employment..from a Correctional Officer, a Museum Curator and the latest that I enjoyed the most was State Job Service Representative that included helping individuals, families and community's. That was very gratifying. My Children of course have all grown and have families of there own, 5 Girls and 2 Boys. All great kid's, I am a proud Father. They have blessed me with...I think...12 grandchildren? : )they are loads of fun. Couple of them even like hanging out with there Papa....tinkering and hearing funny story's. I have always wanted to move back to Lake Mille Lacs area where I grew up. The area is home with a lot of memory's....some good..some bad ones, but...It's where I am from. I have lived in Vineland, Foley and St Cloud, MN. after returning home, in tact from the Marine Corps. I got lucky well wintering at Daytona Beach a few years back...no not that kind of luck! Geez Mike! In looking at various property listings on line, Hobby Farms & lake homes I...Expand for more
found my present home. The seller hadn't had any offers, seller was heading to foreclosure so I made a ridiculous offer thinking he would counter, but he didn't. The realtor involved jokingly said it was the steal of the life time. I didn't have to go to jail : )) Now I am living on the S.W. side of the lake, by myself, retired, and with allot of time on my hands to travel when and where ever. I didn't travel much well working and raising my family so this is nice. Route 66 sound familiar? Then up the California coast to Sasquatch country. I have to find out if he is big, stinky, ugly as people say and why the hell he's wondering around the country hiding in the woods sometimes throwing rocks at people! What's your problem Satchie Boy!?! Could be his teeth or what he is eating...you never know. : ) My hobbies are restoring classic cars (have a few of them), wood work, guitar, my motorcycle's, landscaping and just tinkering, fixing things and just putts around in my garage. These simple things help make me a happy man! Thanks for stopping by, I would like to hear from you and how your doing. Take care and be good to yourselves and love ones. Let me know of upcoming reunion's maybe I will visit. Floyd Class of 68
