Floyd's Story

Life After graduating from Century High I worked at Lock and Dam #53 in Grand Chain during the summer of 1966. I then moved to Rockford, Ill and worked at Elco Tool Company for several months before accepting a position at the Veterans Administration Hospital in North Chicago. I worked there as a Nurse Assistant until September 1967 when I joined the U.S. Air Force. I served in the USAF twenty-five (25) years. My assignments after Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas were: Randolph AFB,Texas (1967-1970); Phu Cat Air Base, Viet Nam (1970-1971); Soesterberg AB, The Netherlands (1971-1973); Tinker AFB, Oklahoma (1973-1976); Ramstein AB, Germany (1977-1981); Goodfellow AFB,Texas (1981-1982); Incirlik AB, Turkey (1982-1983); Rhein Main AB, Germany (1983-1986); Langley AFB, Virginia (1986-1989); Hahn AB, Germany (1989-1992); Charleston AFB, South Carolina (August-October 1992). I enjoyed my military career and would change very few things I did during that time if I had to live those days again. I view my time in the military as a great educational experience that no school could possibly teach or duplicate. After leaving the military I worked at The Citadel, Military College of South Carolina, eighteen (18) months. My wife was offered and accepted a position in Charlotte, North Carolina. This meant another move. I worked as a supervisor for a Chi...Expand for more
cago based company, DSC Logistics. After spending three (3) years in Charlotte my wife was offered a position in Macon, Georgia. Again she accepted therefore we packed up and moved. We decided to settle in Warner Robins which is approximately one-half hour south of Macon. While there I worked two years for Lucas Aerospace Company as a Support Service Attendant and three years for the USAF as an Item Manager. Once again my wife was offered a new location. This time it was Orlando, Florida. Since my wife works from home we decided to buy a house in Melbourne, a few miles outside Orlando and close to the ocean. We have been here for eighteen (18) months and decided to make this our last move. Of course the right offer could entice us to reconsider. I am now employed as the Assistant Production Manager for Space Coast Hospital Services,Inc. Also, I recently launced my Home Base Business as an Independent Associate for PrePaid Legal Services, Inc. I am married to the former Juanita Escabedo, a Colorado native. I met her in Germany where she was a manager for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. We have no children together but five from previous marriages. In summary, I have no regrets about my life and discovered talents I have shared and enjoyed with others. Hopefully this website will give me opportunities to spend time with my schoolmates.
