Life
Graduated from Richmond Union High School in June, 1957. Worked for Southern Pacific Railroad Co. form 1957 until December, 1961. Drafted into United States Army in December, 1961. Basic training in Fort Ord, California December, 1961 until March, 1962. Training at Fort Benjamen Harrison in Indianapolis, Indiana March, 1962 until June, 1962. Assigned to U. S. Army Headquarters, Europe in June, 1962 until November, 1963. Back to Southern Pacific Railroad Co. until August, 1964. Went into Real Estate Business in Sonoma County in August, 1964 and still at it. Have run my own business since 1966, Gene Walker Realty in the small village of Freestone in Western Sonoma County. and run it from my home.
My brother, Jerry, lives nearby as well as his three children. My niece Kimberly and her husband, Tom, have two sons, Nicholas and Austen, making me a great-uncle. We are able to visit back and forth as no one is more than 12 miles distant.
We enjoy living in Western Sonoma County and have made many friends over the past 50 some years. We enjoy the coast and the redwoods and the many diverse activities that are available to us.
Having been in the real estate business since 1964 I have come to know this area very well and have made many friends over the years. Our house is a sort of stopping place for many of the people we have come to know over the years and we enjoy all of them.
