Frances's Story
Life
Gunars and I live in Kanata Ontario and are very busy with Music for Young Children. This business has been successful for 29 years. It is a keyboard music education program for children ages 3-8 years (beginners and for 2 year olds (pre-keyboard) there is Sunrise. There are 24000 students and 850 teachers in Canada, United States,New Zealand,South Korea, Singapore and Vietnam. We are always looking for teachers... have any ideas?
Our son Mark is 35 years old. He is an aviation mechanic in the CAF, stationed at Shearwater, NS. He is married to Sylvie Lavoie. They worked on Citadel Hill together in Halifax! He is also a pilot and a graduate of Kings College in Halifax. Our daughter Olivia, 33 years old is married (June 1st, 2001...Expand for more
) to David Riddell. They live in Ottawa and work at Music for Young Children. They are our succession plan!(retirement planned Dec. 2010) I conduct a young children's choir, Bullfrogs and Butterflies. This year I have 31 children ages 21/2 to 8 years. I enjoy this very much.
We go up to our Lake House on Three Mile Lake when we can.We just built a new garage there. My mom, Olive Hindle passed away August 7th, 2001 so it's been challenging times. My dad, Wes Hindle passed away March 6th, 2003. We miss them very much.
Gunars is busy as a Business Manager of MYC. I am so happy we work together.
In April 2009 I won Business Woman of the Year award (Entrepeneur category).It was a wonderful event.
