Frances (Francie) Jones Langley:  

After high school I went to Cal Poly. Majored in Business Administration with an Accounting Concentration. During college I joined Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and worked at Carpernter's Rexall Drug Store. I graduated in 1977. While attending Cal Poly I qualified for International Programs, so my senior year I went to school in England...Middlesex Polytechnic, Ponders End, London, England...what an experience! While attending school in England I studied French for about 7 months. The French teacher sent me to school in France for a month in July of 1977. This was school of engineers who studied business for the month I was there. They didn't really speak English, so it was sink or swim for me! I'm not that good with French (I took 4 years of Latin in high school!), but to this day when I try to think of how to say something in Spanish it comes out in French first! I guess that's the power of learning a language by the sink or swim method! After Cal Poly I worked for an accountant in Corcoran, CA for 5 years (1977 to 1982) during which time I married Jerry Langley (1979), who grew up in Porterville. I work in Hanford for 1 year to get my auditing experience and had my son, John, in 1983. I started to work in Visalia, CA in 1983 when John was 7 months old. I obtained my CPA certificate in 1984.
