FRANCES's Story

Although I only spent one year at Fashion Industries High School, I'm having quite a life. I eventually went to California to raise my son, William. He is 44 now, my new granddaughter, Brookklyn is 1.5 now. My beautiful grandson, Lil William was called home to be with god on Aug. 11 I can't believe it! We are reeling from his passing. My son is a great father. Now he's lost 2 sons, Tamar and William. We had Tamar for only one day and William for 22.5 years. How I miss Nana's Boys. Also I'm an actress, maybe you've seen me in the background of Law & Order in the courtroom ("Burn Baby Burn" and "Curious George") or in the movie "Marci X" or when I was in New York; back home starring "Off Broadway" in a play called "Manhattan Towers" at "Don't Tell Mama". Look for "SYRINDA'S STORY: A MODEL MYSTERY" coming this December 2020. This is my first novel. #SYRINDA'SSTORY School I only spent one year at Fashion it was '72-'73 I was so shy. My friends were Jackie & Murielle Laurent. (Hey Jackie, remember when we went to that Modeling Agency together?)Anyway there was a light skinned brother; named Steven or Phillip; who used to stare at me all of the time. I really wanted him to come over and talk to me but he never did. (Wow! W...Expand for more
here is he?) I liked school but I was painfully shy and found it hard to keep up in math class (Miss Delgado got married the year I was there.) I found myself playing hookey alot; guess that's why I was only there a year. To tell the truth I really wanted to be at Performing Arts but I was too shy to tell anybody that I wanted to be a star! So when they said I got accepted into Fashion I accepted it. My last class was Science at the 7th period and boy I was never there. Some teachers made me feel invisible. I tried out for the cheerleading squad (oh and to that girl who tried to teach me the cartwheels by flipping me all the way over so that I came crashing down on the gym floor, I've never forgotten you. I blacked out as she flipped my legs.) Anyway, I regret not completing my 4 years because now I don't have the stories to tell, unless you want to count the times the gay guys fought outside the school and shouted "Oh, no please don't hit me again" and everyone outside on 24th street laughed so hard. See I have some memories. College In 1988 I got a degree in Fashion Merchandising from a school called Patricia Stevens Fashion Career College. I guess I was wishing that I was back at Fashion. It just wasn't the same though.
