Francine's Story
Life
Went to work after graduating. Married in 1978 but divorced 4 years later. Live in Massapequa. I have had my own business doing Electrolysis and Permanent Cosmetic Makeup for the past 10 years.
In 2001 I decided I needed a change in careers. I got my real estate license and I'm now an Associate Broker and with Century 21 Prevete Bastone Real Estate. I work out of their Massapequa office, but I specialize in many areas including Bethpage, the Massapequas, Old Bethpage, Plainview, Seaford, Wantagh, Levittown, Farmingdale, and Hicksville.
I'm really loving my new career! I've been able to help many of our HS friends with real estate concerns over the yeas. I like to think of myself as the Realtor for Plainedge Alumni, lol. II hope you'll refer me the next time you or someone you know is ready to sell or buy a home or need some real estate advice.
Also in 2001, a group of Plainedge Alumni banded together and with the help and conncections of many other alumni we organized the Plainedge HS All Class Reunion, covering all graduating classes since the HS first opened to 2001. It was a HUGE success. With the permission of the school board and administration, this event was held in July, 2001on the grounds of Plainedge HS - live music, food and soft drinks, and old friends reuniting! Attendance was approximately 2500 alumni!

continued on to put a planning committee together for the Class 71 30 year reunion, which was held in September, 2001. I've continued to be the main contact and information source for our Class over the years. and recently created our Class 71 website - w w w dot Plainedge71 dot com. Our new website was a great source of contacting our Alumni to inform them of our Class of 71 committee organizing the Class of 1971 40 year Reunion which was just held on September 23, 2011 - another great success.
Some of the Alumni on the planning committee for the All Class Reunion kept the little group together and we became the Plainedge Alumni Association. Over the years we've held very successfull fundraisers to benefit the John Theisseen Children's Foundation in Wantagh. In 2010 we decided to we wanted to do something more local and home grown, so we started the Plainedge Alumni Memorial Scholarship to be awarded to a deserving current graduating student of our Alma Mater. All funds for the scholarship came from donations made by friends and family of deceased Alumni. Our first recipient was awarded a $3000 scholarship along with a plaque memorializing those that have passed on. We're hoping to do bigger and better in the coming years as our Scholarship Fund continues to grow through the generosity of fellow Alumni.
