Frank's Story
I have very fond memories of growing up in Downey and of Warren Hi. Those were much simpler and kinder years.
After graduation, I spent 3 of the most miserable years of my life in the US Army (1968-1971). Got out and earned a BA at Cal State Fullerton in 1975.
I've lived in the Sacramento area since 1977. I worked for a combined 30 years for the County of Sacramento and the State of California. I retired at 58.
I met my wife in 1979 and we married 2 years later. Jeanne is 3rd generation Japanese-American (sansei). She was born on her way to the Amache concentration camp in Colorado. She is more dear to me than life itself. However we do make an odd lookin...Expand for more
g couple in that I'm 6'2" and she claims to be 5'.
I¿m 61 years old and will be eligible for Social Security beginning this December. Did any of us ever realize that one day we¿d be this old? You know it¿s funny that I look through the same eyes I¿ve always looked through and feel the same as I have always physically felt . . . until I look at myself in the mirror and realize there¿s a senior citizen looking back at me. Where did this guy come from? Upon getting my new Costco card, I remember sending an email to everyone I know warning them that Costco was putting photos of old geezers on their membership cards.
