Frank's Story
Life
Joined the army in 1958 .
Basic training at Fort Chaffee Ark. Same barracks as Elvis Presley .
Went to Fort Sam Houston Tex. for 12 weeks Medical training 1959.
Then on to Fort Gordon Ga. For Three months working on a Surgery ward.
Sept 1959 went to Korea for thirteen months and was a medic in an inf. unit. First Cav Division
1960 Returned and was stationed At Fort Story Virginia for 18 months .
Was Married July of 1961.
!962 went to Walter Reed Army Medical Center for 40 weeks for Advanced Medical Spec. School .
June !962 First Daughter Stacey born.
November 1962 Was stationed at Fort Sill, Okahoma Pediatric
Ward . for two years . High light of that Assignment was there were two cases of Polio and I was assigned to take care of one . Here I took State Boards for LPN and Passed.
March 1964 Second Daughter Theresa Born.
Was getting orders to go to Europe and rather than move again I got out of the Military and stayed in Lawton Ok. Tried to go School but
with two Children and working in a Supermarket just didn't work out.
After four months went back in the Military but this time The Air Force . I had a choice of where I was going to be assigned so I picked Keesler Air Force Base off the Map.
1965 to 1966 Worked in ICU
1966 recieved orders to go to Japan . Spent one year at Tachikawa AFB and the next two years nine months at Yokota AFB .
1970 returned to the states and again stationed at Keesler AFB. Was asigned To the Pediatric Clinic as NCOIC .
1973 Third Daughter Tammy born.
1975 recieved orders for Sondestrom AFB Greenland. for one year.
Best assignment that i had the whole time i was in service .
Kept busy working part time as cook in NCO and Officer clubs . Cleaned up the bowling Alley and Theater every night after Doing the Cooking at the Clubs. By the way I had my Military job as NCOIC of the Dispensary Medical Part.
1976 Returned to Keesler AFB to My Old Job as NCOIC of the Pediatric clinic . It was as I had never left . They had three different ones while I was gone and the latest one was only there three weeks and when...Expand for more
they found out I was back they moved him.
I stayed on as NCOIC of the clinic until I retired in 1979. After retiring I was replaced with three NCOs and a RN.
1979 Went to Work at Howard Memorial Hospital on the Pediatric unit and started going back to school for an AD in Nursing At Jefferson Davis Junior College. Finished in 1982 and worked my first year On a Surgical Floor . Moved back to Pediatric Floor 1983 and one morning had An MI at 4 am while working . After that when i was ready to go back to work i was only getting four hours and driving 18 miles for that .So in 1983 applied to work at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport in the Nursery and was hired working 12 hour nights . I was the first Male Nurse to work in the Nursery and They
told me I would never last . 24 years later after retiring at 17 years and coming back to work PRN I'm still there . Lots of changes over the years went from Nursery to NICU and Nursery . Have bigger staff an More Males working.
Over the years I have taken care of Children in Ok. , Japan ,
Keesler , Biloxi and Gulfport . Some have grown up and working with me as RNs . Others Were born 24 years or less and now they are comming back to have babies. Never ending cycle . Life goes on.
Family Status First Wife ran off with Next door Neighbor in 1992. I remarried 1995 In Hawaii barefoot and on the beach Side To Sharon Money . We are very happy and just returned from a Carnival Cruise . to Mexico . We had a house built after Katrina . The Contractor , The Bank and now the insurance Company are trying their best to mess over everyone. We have been in the house one year and the Fire and Thief has went up over 110 % from one year ago . We are still waiting for the Wind and Hail part.
We Have 13 Cats and Seven Goats some Geese,and Ducks.

New update. Its for real I have retired from nursing as of 14 Feb. 2011 . Now almost 71 and will be able to work around the house . Broke ground for a garden , Will do a lot of house cleaning, and and take care of the animals .
