Frank's Story

Class of 1963, attended Villanova University class of 1967 U of P graduate school advanced degree 1970 in Criminology. Started teaching at Villanova in 1970, also taught at Cabrini College, St Joseph U. Delaware County Community Colege and currently Chair Sociology/Criminology/Social Work department at Immaculata Unmiversity. This marks m,y 45th year of college teaching. Married Rita f Bensinger class of 1967 Immaculata collage 10/10/70, she is a retired 40 year elementry school teacher who now supervises student teachers for Immaculata. We have two children, Amy Class of IU 2001 & Villanova 2003 a software engineer Lockheed Martin, her huband Joseph is the Philadelphia Port captain for the McAlister tug boat co. they have two children Joey & Katie who I love to spoil. My son Frank III Villanova class of 1997 is a supervisor of safety at Immaculata. I retired as a Major from the New Jersey National Guard after 25 years of service. In 2/12/14 I had a sever accident shearing both bones in my rt leg, breaking my lft shoulder and destroying my rt shoulder socket. I had four major operations in the space of 1...Expand for more
2 days and 4 months in nursing rehab. I have two titaniam plates holding my leg together , an artificial rt shoulder socket and bolts holding together my lft shoulder. One of my threee surgeons told me they did not expect me to make it, however I was back teaching in fall 2014 after I learned to walk again. I feel blessed since I see each day as a bonus and I no longer let anything bother me after all I am still looking down at the dirt instead of up at it. Eric Richard Goepfert, 68, passed away on 2/6/15. He attended grammer school, high school and college with me. He was a graduate of Villanova University with a BA in mechanical engineering and received his Master's degree from Stanford University. He served in the US Navy for 13 years including 4 tours of duty in Antartica where a bluff was named afer him.. (You can GOOGLE it) He retired as a Lt Commander and worked in various engineering capacities including at the US Embassy in Moscow. My wife Rita and I had the pleasure of attending his wedding in 2011 despite his suffering from the crippling effects of Parkinson's Disease. Rest in Peace old friend.
