Frank's Story
Gave up on my plans to become a math teacher, based on projected employment opportunities. and ended up working a couple of years between universities, including a stint in the armed forces.
Ended up finishing my degree in Computer Science instead, in 1979, and have been working in that field ever since. Spent 5 years in Ottawa, followed by 5 years in Toronto, and since then, at Manulife in K-W (18th year and counting).
Married my high school girlfriend, Patricia King, after only knowing her for 10 years. Been married for 25 years and counting come April. Poor girl!
Have 4 kids, each with their unique strengths and issues, but being a dad has been great. Wouldn't trade any ...Expand for more
of them for anything (well, maybe.....).
Still playing basketball at age 52 - the knees are going, but is still fun, and every year I remember I was better than I really was back in high school - am going to keep playing until I get good, but I'm losing hope. Have coached 3 of my kids for years, and hope they all learn to love the game like I do - one starting for his university team is better than I could have hoped for - GO CAPERS!
Starting to think about retirement, though I have no idea what I'd do - but have to get the youngest through school before that's a real issue.
