Frankie's Story

Life PIC is Frankie and Larry in our dots at 50th anniversary of the Polka Dots Motorcycle Club! Hope you all remember the "open" parties we had at Arden Creek Road. My dad would always say "...do all these people have an invitation!" Of course, they didn't, and I'd always say okay next party, i'll send out invitations (never did)....Since high school, I raised and showed Arabian horses with my Father at our 20-acre ranch in North Highlands - also rode Tennessee Walkers for Barbara Worth's stables - rode in front of President Reagan at the State Fair and took 2nd place; was a drop in waitress at our family's restaurant, Parisi's Little Bit of Italy (had two one at Howe Avenue and another at Riverside and Seamas Ave), when I needed extra spending cash and before heading out to party with my best friend, Joan Subry (until she got married), then with another best friend, Peggy - used to go to Vern Callisons on Marconi and Fulton and get drinks for $1.50 before going to the dance places where they cost a whole bunch more.... married Larry Hartnett on May 5, 1979 (O'le); drove Monster Trucks at the California State Fair; Larry and I ran the quad racing events with Monster Truck Madness at many fairs in California; under the guiding hand of Larry, raced motocross on a 200HP Honda motorcyle as a "Powder Puff" at Sacramento Raceway where I won my first place trophy, Marysville and Nevada tracks; worked 23 years as a HR professional for Wismer & Becker Contracting Engineers (no longer in business) - we still get together every year around the holidays to share stories and remember the good ole days; been some 20 years at SMUD (Sacramento Municipal Utility District) as an HR professional; in 1992 moved to 5 acres in Shingle Springs, CA called "Yellow Dog Farm", named a...Expand for more
fter our yellow lab, Barney (who passed away) and now his son JR and our rescue dog, Max - what a pair; have two grandchildren: Taylor Ann, Age 5 and Trygg, Age 3 that we thoroughly enjoy; occasionally see my best friend Joanie Vanderpool (Subry) who became a country girl in Pollock Pines instead of me who lived in the city til our move to Yellow Dog Farm; bought a lovely diesel pusher motorhome so Larry and I can retire soon and travel all over the place with our 2 yellow dogs; they say Larry has been semi-retired already - he has worked in the motorcylce business for years and currently works for Harley Davidson Motor Company as a District Service Operations Manager, which is every little boys dream; both sisters, Donna and Linda, went to El Camino too; Donna ran the Parisi's restaurant on Riverside and perhap many of you enjoyed the italian food that was so good and special (flaming Chicken Marsala, Veal Parmesan - i'm getting hungry); she is now a caregiver and does some catering and Linda is a County Public Defender - she is four years younger and went to El Camino after the year I graduated - she was a cheerleader; have two nieces, the "ca" sisters, as we affectionately call them - Jessica and Erica, Jessica graduated from McGeorge Law School and followed in Linda's footsteps as a County Public Defender and Erica is right behind going to Lincoln Law School, where Linda teaches also; traveled to Hong Kong many times over the years with my Mother, Tweety as many of you knew her, and my sisters and Jessica (niece) to shop, shop, and still more shopping until we could not carry any more; also love to travel to Mexico at all-inclusive resorts and just lay back and enjoy.....it's been a great ride so far.....love my family, my doggies, my friends and my life!
