Fred's Story
Life
After graduating from Bellevue High School in 1962, I finally got around to graduating from the University of Washington in 1971 with a B.A. in English Literature. (My BHS Creative Writing teacher, Martha Hardy, steered me in that direction.) I spent most of my professional life working as a GED Prep Test Instructor for the Highline Public School District in Burien, Washington. I retired from that position in 1996 and now reside in the environs of Madison, Indiana, with my better half Carol, who is a former student of mine. I keep busy as a freelanc...Expand for more
e writer. Since 1973, I have served as APBA Unlimited Historian for the Unlimited Hydroplane Racing Association. I attend most of the Unlimited races around the country. I have fond memories of my BHS years--especially my stint as Varsity Basketball Manager for Coach Glen Young. And yes, blue and gold are still my favorite colors. I invite any and all of my fellow graduates to visit me at my hometown Madison Regatta on the Ohio River every Fourth of July weekend. (Our home overlooks the river and stands three-quarters of a mile from the race course.)
