Fred's Story
Life
Since High School I had been driving semi-trucks in one form or another. Up till about 2004 when my dieabetis got so bad that I had to come off the road and take a factory job. I am presently working for Stan Sax Corp. of Detroit MI. This is the company I started driving for in 1996 and then left in 2000 to help Steve Posey start a trucking firm but it all went under in May 2001 therfore I returned to Stan Sax and picked up where I left off. I enjoied driving and getting to see the country, even if it is through the windsheild at seventy m.p.h. They were nice enough to keep me on even after I could no longer drive for them and put me to work in the factory makeing the products that I use to deliver in the semi.
Some of you know that I married Sharon Lynne in June of 1990. I then addopted Melissa Louise (her daughter) officialy in 1995.
I am also involved with the Michigan Transit Museum, housed in the old Grand Trunk Western train depot in down town Mt.Clemens, MI. I volunteer my weekends there as a locomotive engineer on the 100 ton Alco S-1 switcher and the 60 ton B.L.H. switcher. I also handle all track work, signals, and maintenance-of-way equiptment(motorcars); also all the maintenance on all the cars. It truely at times is a labor of love!! I would love to hear from any of yo...Expand for more

School
After graduation I spent the the fall working and gathering my things together for Nothland Baptist Bible Col. in Dunbar Wis. I spent only one semmester there. The Lord saw fit to close that door in my life. I came home and got a job working as a janitor at General Motors Tech Center. I was nailed in the cutbacks of 1985 and layed off. I took what money I had made there and went off to truck driving school. This seemed to be where I was supose to be all along. I walked out of truck driving school and into North American Van Lines driving cross country long haul. I got to see all 48 states and parts of Canada and Mexico.
I have taken a class or two over the years but have learned so much more in the school of hard knocks than could ever be learned in a book or a class room. Life teaches you to think on your feet and to take it as it falls
College
Nothland Baptist was a long way from civilzation and cut off from the world. I now look back on that and see why. It seem really hard to me to get adjusted to that in my life at that time but now I wish I could go and be up there in that type of enviroment.
The only other training that I have had was truck driving school and a few other classes that have wondered through my life over the years.
