Frederick's Story

Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans - John Lennon Feel free to contact me... 312 Walnut Street, Delanco, New Jersey, 08075...a town with ONE traffic light and NO liquor licenses...Married to wife, the former Mary Louise Kennedy, another Stockton alumni, for almost 19 years, with five kids at this writing (2-8-08); Katherine Mary, (17), Anne Elizabeth, (16), Jeanne-Marie, (15), Sean Frederick, (12), and Megan Madeline (8). Living in old, three-story Victorian at confluence of Delaware and Rancocas Rivers, a la Frank Capra's holiday classic (see below). BS Biology from Stockton, MS Studies at RWJMS Waksman Institute of Microbiology; Gave up research at UMDNJ / RWJMS for Auto Sales back in the 1980's, (kids gotta eat, and a free minivan every 5000 miles doesn't suck). Now back to mortgage banking after 15 Years with Chrysler (was in the top 50 in US, brag, brag.) (always did finance on the side) Mary Kennedy LaVergne retired from Child Care at Medford "Goddard School" <Asst. Director>, BS Psych / Early Childhood Development from Stockton (explains her curious attraction to me). Don't know how she does it...our five, 110 more at work, teaches CCD two days a week, Scouts, Explorers, Cheerleading, Band, and putting up with me...I stand in awe. She also had Thyroid Cancer last summer, but kicked it's *&^, not that I'm surprised. Still own '67 Chevelle from HS, but it is now a basket case. Serious car wreck in 1985, nearly killed <hit by a drunk driver who was, conveniently, driving a tow truck>. Double roll-over and 620 feet upside down.(in the snow) Car was 2 1/2 feet tall when I kicked the door off to get out. Restoring it for Katie (oldest). Was hit by ANOTHER drunk driver last December...Car was totalled. (5-speed Escort versus Nissan Titan Quad-cab 4x4 pick-up...numb-nuts tried to cut across left lane into parking lot to duck a traffic light while stopped in traffic. I almost avoided HIM, but he hit the gas rather than the accelerator when he noticed me, (the crunching sound) drove up and over my hood. Still played soccer, too, until this year, <knees are now gone for good, I've been told, but, hey, 15 years later than I was warned, so I can't exactly gripe, now, can I?> but not skinny little guy any more...60" jacket, 20" neck (I'll...Expand for more
never hang!), 5'10" (late twenties growth spurt). Built like a refrigerator with a head. Life is good!...1-856-764-0454 is home, 1-856-313-7003 is work. Miss "Sal's" in Red Bank, "The Inkwell", and the "Windmill". Mary and I bought 24 1/2 acres in Maine...I must be nuts! After watching our lives flash before our eyes monitoring our 401K, we decided "real" property made more sense. THIS should be an adventure, indeed! Sean has been helping me clear the driveway, which will be a little over 1200' long...a lot of work. Water well goes in in April 2007, and I will begin milling the timbers for a post and beam home that Mary has designed some time next summer. Hoping to have it closed to weather in 2008. Lots of trees to choose from (a little over 10,000), so this should get me back in shape <lol!> Lifetime supply of building stone, also, as well as 1/4 mile of the Mohawk Stream. Spent time after college as a carpenter/mason, ...looking forward to teaching Sean. He picked up felling right away...all kidding aside, the safest partner I've ever worked with. He was nominated for all-county in his age group in Burlington County, NJ, as a catcher, last year, too. He's pretty damned good (I sucked at baseball...) Mary and I own the Delanco, New Jersey, Branch for Barclay Funding Corp. (residential mortgage lending) We're currently licensed to do business in 22 States. I just sell the money. Also own Samaritan Group, LLC, a commercial transaction brokerage licensed (when required) and can do business in all 50 States. Looks like Kate is headed to Marymount in Arlington VA with lots and lots of scholarship $$$ (Daddy's happy!). Annie's looking at Kutztown or Rowan, and Jamie at Princeton, Johnson and Wales, Sarah Lawrence, or Wellesley. This is going to get expensive. Sean is 5 (strike that, 4) badges away from being an Eagle Scout, and he's only 12...Good Lord. Slow down, dammit! He has the next 4 years plotted out in advance. Must be from Mary's side. I don't know what I'll have for lunch when I leave in the morning. Megan intends to be a Paleontologist. Scary bright, but they all are. Scrabble is a blood sport at our house. Every day is an adventure, and it's been a hell of a ride. Hope all our friends are well! Frederick John LaVergne and family
