Freida's Story
Hey old neighborhood friends! I was born and raised on Sherwood St. between Marcus & Huber. I went to Cooper Elementary from Kindergarten to 6th grade. From that point I went on to Burroughs (of course). I went to Kettering for 9th grade then my parents moved to Outer Dr. & Seven Mile and I attended & graduated from Osborn High School. All I can say is that it's very hard going to another high school where you only know a few. I missed my house, neighborhood and mostly my friends I grew up with. tore down in 2009, all the houses are gone too. I went with my daughter to the Parade Co. (located on Mt. Elliot and Huber) last November after the Thanksgiving Parade and couldn't believe it was right down the street where I grew up. All my childhood memories are in that neighborhood, so sad everything is gone.
I also hate to see the sad condition of Detroit around our Osborn High School. When we moved there it was such a nice place to live!!
I do see some familiar people on this website and look forward to recognizing more!
I still work and am married and have 2 grown children and 4 grandchildren.
