Gail's Story
I was raised on Cold Creek and went to Oak Manor from 1959-1965. I then went to Potter Valley High from 1965 to 1970 when it was closed. I graduated from Ukiah High in 1971. I attended Santa Rosa JC and graduated from there in 1973 and Sacramento State in 1975. After that I married and lived all over the state and the US for the next 7 years and got my teaching credential from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Three kids followed, a divorce, remarriage and widowhood and three granddaughters and 1 grandson of whom the oldest just turned 7 years old. I finished the work for and graduated with my Masters' in Counseling from University of Phoenix in April ...Expand for more
(2008). I also found my birth mother's family in June '08 and am getting used to being a sister.Talk about a major life change for the better. I have 3 sisters and 2 brothers on her side. She graduated in the class of '52 from Ukiah High. I found my birth (Jerry Hickey) dad in October'08 and was able to spend some time with him before he passed away in Oregon. He went to Ukiah High till October of 1950 but he was in the same class as my mother (Elise Hair).. That added 2 more sisters and 2 more brothers. My questions have been or are in the process of being answered. Now I am re-thinking being single. Maybe not! I currently live in Washington.
