Gail's Story
Life
I have been very busy with school, but I still try to take some time out for myself. I enjoy hiking, birdwatching, and herping (that's looking for reptiles and amphibians folks). When I'm not outside, I enjoy reading and painting as well as spending time with friends or simply having a good intellectual argument. I spend a lot of time in my office at Cal Poly because I am a very dedicated teacher. I have yet to get married and doubt that will happen any time soon: I am enjoying the freedom that comes with being single.
School
The teachers that most inspired me were Mr. Fisher and Mr. Schmidt. As for the rest of my K-12 experience, several people made it worthwhile: Rachel, Jill, Jilienne, Christina, Lindsley and Tim. I love you guys.

ee in Biology in 2002. I continued at Cal Poly with my Master's in Fall 2002, and finished in Fall 2004. I studied the effects of habitat fragmentation on bird populations.
Workplace
As an undergraduate, I worked as a student curator in the Cal Poly Animal Room, where I tended venomous and non-venomous reptiles. As a graduate student, I worked as a teaching associate and taught Basic Biology, Botany and Vertebrate Zoology. I also worked as a Laboratory Technician in a Physiology Laboratory where they are attempting to find a cure for epilepsy. I am currently teaching large lecture halls of General Biology at Cal Poly Pomona as a Lecturer. I am also Adjunct Faculty at Victor Valley Community College and Mt. San Antonio College where I teach General Biology. This summer, I will be teaching Vertebrate Zoology and Human Anatomy.
