Gail's Story
Life
Isn't it amazing how the older we get the more we want to go back to the past, just for a little visit? These are truly the best years of my life. I am still married to Richard Galloway, who has made my life so much better by just knowing him. I retired in 2000 from the Gwinnett County, GA school system after 15 years teaching and 15 years as an elementary school administrator. When I retired Richard and I decided to move back home, so his company transferred him and we live in Eagle Harbor just south of Orange Park.
Richard and I were not blessed with children so we just borrow everyone else's to get a 'kid fix'. We do have two spoiled kitty cats, Oscar and Felix.
Richard and I love to travel. We just returned from a cruise to Alaska. We have also visited Canada a number of times, Mexico, Hawaii and Europe. Richard was in the Navy and was stationed in the Phillipines.
We married in 1968. You may remember Jimmy Yarbrough, I was either going steady or engaged to him during my senior year at Baldwin. Jimmy and I married in August, 1965 and he was tragically killed in an on-the-job accident just two months later.

ge when I married Jimmy so I returned to Lake City Junior College, graduated from Florida State University (GO NOLES!!!), got my masters from the U. of Florida, and in 1973 received a doctorate from Georgia State University.
Right now I am loving life as a retired lady! I have taken classes in watercolor painting, quilting, scrapbooking, and cake decorating. I love to read. I am not too interested in things that are very physical (it is too hot outside most of the time) but I have taken golf lessons and putz around on the course every now and then.
I can't think of anything else anyone might be curious about at the time. I would really like to hear from any of you.

There isn't a lot new in my life since I wrote the above information. I have really gotten focused in on quilting. I am President of the Friendship Quilt Guild in Jacksonville and just served two years as show coordinator for QuiltFest Jax at the Prime Osborn Convention Center. If fact, I have been so busy working for the two organizations I haven't had time to do much quilting at all recently. I need to get the old needle and thread out and get onto something creative.
