Gail's Story
Education:
I went to St. Joseph Catholic School in Decatur, Indiana, until I moved to Bentonville, Arkansas, in the middle of the 7th grade (1976). I graduated from Bentonville High School in 1982.
I attended the University of Arkansas from 1982 to 1986. I graduated in May 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Education (BSE) degree in Secondary Education (with teacher certification in secondary & middle school English and mathematics).
Monte finished his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering (BSAgE) degree. He graduated in December 1987.
Personal:
Monte Piha (also Bentonville High School Class of 1982) and I married in June 1984, after our sophomore year of college. We lived in Fayetteville from 1984 to 1989. We moved to Farmington in 1989 where we still currently reside.
We welcomed our daughter Lauren Kelsey in July 1988 and our son, Stephen Lucas, in October 1997 (on my 34th birthday).

Employment:
Following graduation from the UofA, I worked at the University of Arkansas Graduate School Dean's Office for 25ÃÂý years, retiring in March 2012. I worked for the Graduate School at the University in a variety of jobs starting as:
Admissions Analyst (Aug 1986-Jan 1987);
Secretary to the Associate Dean (1987-1988);
Office Manager (1988-1990);
Director of Graduate Admissions & Administration (1990-2001);
Assistant to the Vice Provost for Research/Dean of the Graduate School (2001-2004);
Assistant Vice Provost-Finance & Administration (2004-2010); and
Budget Officer (2010-2012).
After Monte graduated from the UofA, he went to work for George's in Springdale (1987-1988) and for Campbell Soup (1988-1991). He and his brother Aaron started Piha's Construction, Inc., and primarily work all over NW Arkansas.
Monte & I will celebrate our 28th anniversary in June 2012.
