Gail's Story

April 2020 What a difference 5 yrs makes! I moved to Spring Hill FL about 5 yrs ago...good thing too with all the mess that's been going on in Albany GA! Since moving here I have dealt with one issue after another...the main one being a diagnosis of a very aggressive/rare form of Thyroid cancer. I make trips to Houston TX every 3-4 months to see a great Dr out there at MD Anderson that has put me on a chemo pill that has finally slowed down/halted the continued spread of the cancer...I am doing well now. Have been on a couple of cruises and a trip just last October to Scotland and Ireland. That was a wonderful trip and I would love to return to Scotland! I hope to see many of my classmates at out 50yr reunion in 2021! Let's do it! Time is not on our side at this juncture! April 2015 Still here in Albany, GA! Graduated college once again in 2012 and have been working as a Certified Medical Assistant ever since. My youngest son, who is finishing his BA in Psychology, and I are looking forward to returning to FL sometime very soon. We are feeling the need to get closer to family and looking forward to getting that FL sand in our shoes once again. Hope to hear from some classmates...thank you Rick for your notes here on classmates. I just rejoined and got them! Feb. 2010 WOW! How many of us even envisioned 2000 much less 2010! I know I didn't...especially with my life as it currently is... I'm still in Southwest GA...I keep telling my kids I'm not leaving...they'll have to scatter me in the back yard! ith many, the down turn in the economy got me too. I'd been working for the past year and a half as an administrative assistant to the pres/ceo of a local company. So, with the job market looking so poor around here, I've decided once again to return to college! Yup! I'm going back to school again! (Couldn't wait to get out at 17 and now it seems I keep returning in my 50's!). So, what am I studying this time??? I've been accepted into the Practical Nursing Program...will be starting in the spring (March 2010) semester. So, in about a year, I'll have a new career...it would also be great if it turns out that I have a new man in my life! After 5 years, I'm ready! Will have to see where I'm at in my life progress in a year...I have my goals in sight...let's compare notes at our 40th reunion in 2011! 2007-2010 Since graduation, I've lived in several parts of FL, AZ (for 12 yrs), NC (for 7 yrs), and now I'm in Leesburg/Albany, GA and LOVE IT!!!! First time in my adult life that I feel like I'm home and where I should be! What an awesome feeling for me! I'm still single after experiencing an unwanted divorce. I know someday this will change so I'm taking life as it comes and actually enjoying being single. (2010) Certainly ready after 5 yrs to find someone special that can keep up with me! LOL! Please read my updates/announcements and drop me a line when you check in. I frequently get to FL now being much closer so I'll try to do a better job of posting impending trips that way....ya'll check back now ya hear!
