Gail's Story
Life
I went to Murphy Elementary, 1st thru 6th...North Jefferson 7th thru 9th...and then Northwest.
I was married to Steve G'Sell (from NHS class of 70) for 14 years and had 2 children, Dean and Marisa. We divorced and then I re-married 3 years later to my husband now, Mike Blunt (class of "74" Garey High, Pomona, California). We had 1 child together, Levi. Mike has a son, Ryan.
Altogether we have 4 children and 7 grandchildren.
Ryan, his wife Marisa and his children(Anaya,Arlene,Little Ry) live in California. Ryan followed in his dads footsteps and became an electrician.
Dean and his daughters, Allison and Adalynn live close to where I went to elementary school(Murphy).
Marisa and her 2 sons, Grant, Logan, and her husband Quest moved to Lake St. Louis.
Levi, our youngest, has a caulking company. It's the industrial kind you put around pools and pool decks.
I would say that I have had a pretty full life since high school.
I don't like the idea of getting old, but...one of the things I have come to realize, the true perk of getting older is: grandch...Expand for more
ildren. They are a true blessing. I have also learned that someone sent me the wrong memo on life...I was told that things slowed down once you turned 50.. My life is more hectic now than ever. I took care of my dad before he died in 2015 at age 93. He was going strong but cancer showed up and took him. I am now taking care of my mom who is 95. She has been failing for several years.
So,,, between children, grandchildren, aging parents and a job...life has been VERY full to say the least. Not complaining though, I love being with all of them and every once in a while we sneak in a camping trip or vacation.
In summary I would have to say... my life is good: I love my husband, our children, our grandchildren.... I have traveled to several of the places I wanted to see-- the Bahama's, Hawaii, Mexico, and several states. I also got to attended and participate in the planning of my '40' yr NHS Reunion a few years ago....(yikes! 40years???) It was great to see everyone and I had a great time, hoping to see everyone at the 50th!!!
Rock on Class of '73' !!!
