Because Those Who Mind Don't Matter & Those Who Matter Don't Mind" "Sometimes people get the mistaken notion that spirituality is a separate department of life, the penthouse of existence. But rightly understood, it is a vital awareness that pervades all realms of our being." - David Steindl-Rast "Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude." - Denis Waitley "Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love." - Fyodor Dostoyevsky Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense. - Buddha This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness. - Dalai Lama Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment. ~Buddha "My friend, what are you? Are you a celestial being or a god?" "No," said the Buddha. "Well, then, are you some kind of magician or wizard?" Again the Buddha answered, "No." "Are you a man?" "No." "Well, my friend, then what are you?" The Buddha replied, "I am awake." The Buddha". More about Gail:"This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness. ~ Dalai Lama I’m a very lucky mom of 5 amazing kiddos & very lucky to have found my soulmate, Mike. My daughter is 6 and my son is 9, Mike's daughter is 8 and his sons are 9 & 3. These 6 precious souls are my world, my universe. We are raising our 5 children together as one big happy family and having an awesome time doing so. Lots of laughter and lots of love! I'm "quirky". I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE being outdoors. Camping, Snowblading, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, dancing, ...Expand for more
and my newest passion, SUP'ing (though not nearly as much time to do it as I'd like). I love to dance! I love nature. I love learning new things. I love LOVE. I believe that with LOVE, anything is possible. You could look at it from one angle and say I’ve Been through hell and back in the past 10 years, some sad events have really taken a toll at times, I have found myself in these experiences, found strength and truth - I have ZERO regrets. I don't believe in regrets - every experience is an opportunity to learn. Every experience is meant to be. I've learned to "Live and learn" (and LAUGH!) and find the positives in everything. "Everything happens for a reason". I'm VERY spiritual, but not religious. I've taken philosophies and beliefs from many different cultures and religions and invented my own belief system that works for ME. I love Buddhism, I love Native American theologies, I was raised Catholic and teach our kids about Christianity alongside other forms of spirituality and faith. I am especially drawn to the Virgin Mary. I believe in the Universe and all as ONE. I have faith in MY beliefs - there is no one "right" way, there is only YOUR way for YOU. I learn from so many people. And I think some learn from me, too. I am one of the lucky ones, I have found my soulmate. Not a doubt in my mind, not a question, not a maybe or an "I think"! My soulmate is here, there is an absolute knowing, a confidence and a love so pure that it is only light and joy. A love so old that it has been through many life times and continues the journey together. A connection so strong that, together, it is more powerful than one could ever imagine. An instant knowing that he was here. I am so very, very, very Thankful to the Universe and to the Virgin Mary... I was born & raised in East Hampton. We live pretty simply. The Dalai Lama said that there are 2 pathways to abundance - to make enough to satisfy your wants, or to live simply and have few desires. Our life is abundant! I like myself. I'm happy in my own skin, like my ideals and perspectives, and am generally comfortable with who I am/have become / am becomming. I'm ever-changing, evolving, becoming the next self that I am.... Life has thrown me some pretty wild curveballs, but I am confident that I've ultimately handled these things pretty darned well. I roll with the punches, I learn, and I go with the flow. I believe in FATE and KARMA and that the road less traveled is usually the most worth taking. When life hands you lemons, figure out how to make lemonade! Don't let negativity prevail, live with love and believe!!! And I DON'T do drugs - of any sort! I'm naturally high on life. I have huge sympathy for people with addictions, because it is a truly horrible struggle... and I have very little patience and/or tolerance for recreational users. And I love juvenile humor. ;-) a'la Beavis & Butthead...".
