Gail's Story
First off - about photos. You won't find any of me in the GSHS Year Books; and I most certainly am NOT posting one here. Have always disliked pix of me. MAYBE I'll find a tractor one that I can share; but don't hold your breath.
Well, I don't party like high school days ( and I certainly excelled in THAT subject!); but, I am still a fun-loving person who likes to laugh and enjoy life. My friends would even say I'm still rather crazy! I have a reputation to uphold, you know.....LOL
Many, many ups & downs (as with everyone, I'm sure) but am settled, happy, busy, and hoping for grandchildren to spoil while I'm still young enough to keep up with them. Been enjoying the "Aunt Gail" thing; but they are growing up so fast and will soon be off to college, etc.
My handsome son, Joshua, is 30 now (GASP!!!) and has finally found "the one." I've prayed for a Christian daughter-in-law; and her name is Angel! Go figure.
Am wondering if there is some school prize for being the "most unlikely to marriage an ex-Amishman" - for that is what I did. Stoltzfoos, what a hoot! We're antique tractor buffs and you can find us at Rough & Tumble in Kinzers every August for their annual reunion. Our 1915 Rumely steel-wheeled tractor is pretty darn neat and I love driving it. I also ...Expand for more
love giving rides - come out and see me!
Somehow, I still have pretty many brain cells and am thankful for that. Never got a college degree but I did get my GED. Even got it twice! Lost the first copy & PA doesn't keep them on file long. So, I had to take the test again. < thought I was returning to school, but got married instead >. Anyway, I didn't do bad on the test for a 'geezer': 86%. Thankfully, my lit & reading skills overcame my lack of in-depth science and math skills.
Age 50 made me re-think my life and I am trying very much to make the second half of my life much, much meaningful than the first 50 were. I proudly volunteer with the Lions Club; am involved with the American Legion Auxiliary to honor my WWII era father; and will get busy with church programs as soon as we settle in (recently changed churches). I taught Sunday School for over 10 years at my old church and like to think that I did well in relating to the kids - because I'm still a kid myself!? Believe me, I learned as much, or more, from the children than I ever taught them. And, I had a blast doing so.
No one may be interested, but I thought I'd post this in order for people to see because it may help them figure out if they really want to touch base with me. Hey, gotta go..................
