I left Brookhaven in 1969 moved to Chicago finished High School in Westmont,IL. thru a Catholic Church that was connected to DuPage College. I went on with my education in Computers, I got my degree in Travel & Tourism while raising my kids. I have been into herbal creations like soap, lotions, candles. My past gardens were a real plus for me to keep my creations natural. I have been on the road for the last 3 years though trying to see the country enjoying life since the kids have grown. I went from OTR driver to helping to rebuild the Levee's in Buras Louisiana, this was right ofter Katrina hit, talk about a war zone! The National Guard was all over New Orleans! I have pictures of how bad Hwy 23 was with the Caskets & houses on the road, I went to a nearby Cemetery & helped pick up human bones that were all over. (What a trip!) While I was in New Orleans I got a puppy, blonde, a stray born right after Katrina. I took him in, I was not sure he was what I needed but he has turned out to be the best thing ever in my life! Taz is his name, part Coyote & Sheppard a real smart dog, it took some time to get him use to having a home, now he rides with me everyday in my dump truck. I love driving dump trucks, it's too easy! I did roll over 1 time when I was backing up the Levee loaded by the Mississippi River,the Levee had given out under my truck. We got it turned right back over and I drove it back to Camp to replace only the drivers side mirror. Right after that I did demolition in New Orleans which was so sad to see how much these people lost. It was like a ghost town. I have met so many good people while driving in N.O. but also I've met some Owners of trucking businesses that took advantage of drivers by not paying them! I'm a firm believer of "What goes around comes around!" In time their turn will come... Nov. 2007**************************** Now I am doing Asphalt, concrete & snow removal back in Chicago...I'd rather be back in New Orleans believe me the shrimp is the best ever, right out of the Gulf, so fresh! Burbon Street is so much fun! HA! Loved it to no end! Now I am on my way to Omaha, NE to work in the train yards doing container work to haul them OTR. ******03/08/08 Im still hauling out of Omaha NE. I was hauling Cow hides from Tyson Chicken in Lexington, NE. I don't think I had ever seen such a sickening place, all these hides hanging from the beams in the ceiling, such a smell. After that I went to Sioux City hauling processed pig to be mixed in pig food to feed it back to pigs. I guess you never know what goes on the world until you explore it ! ******03/26/08 I'm back in Chicago now and I went right back to construction work driving an enddump/semi. I really don't want to do this but at my age I need to try and settle in a job...I guess.... I just found out about oil field jobs in Montana and N.D. running belly dumps & side dumps, so tempting, I really want to do this, I have no ties. This is really killing me to stay in one place, I've been in almost every state driving/working. I really do like adventure! Be...Safe & remember life is short to be unhappy, enjoy it while you can! October 13, 2008 ******** Well..i've been working all summer long driving for the same company hauling slag from Gary, IN. & E. Chicago. It is a ways to travel but a nice ride thru Chicago. (i'm bord) I have been trying to figure out when I can go into the Hospital to have a tumor taken out of my head, My life has been so busy I have put it off. I finally set the date in Jan.6th 2009. I had an Mri done eariler in Oct. I need to go back to helping people & stop painting my toenails...Ha I miss the ruff life and my friends....It's not what you have in your pocket or what you own, it's how you feel in your heart after you have done a good deed to help people who have lost it all! I'm not happy here in Chicago with all these city people, I am a Country person who wouldn't trade her jeans, t-shirt n boots (with holes)for anything..... Jan.05,2009 I'm packing to go to the Spa (Hospital) tomorrow to have this tumor taken out, I can't wait but on the other hand, I'm scared to death.
