Gary's Story
Life
My life story... Well I graduated from CSUP in 1990 in Computer Science (what else) and a year later headed to Seattle to work for a couple of Software Companies. After 6 years there I headed back south to Tucson AZ. Then in late 2000 I headed back to the big city, San Jose CA, where I worked for a big computer chip company. Then in 2002 I moved back to Tucson. On occasion I travel to work in Hawaii, where on my free time I enjoy just kicking back and letting it all hang out. ;o Well I have been found again, I have met someone special, as I now married to a very special person. We then plan on starting a family within the year from that point, so we will just have to see. I thank all of you that voted for me at the last reunion as grandpa of the group, maybe next time I will have the youngest child. :)
School
I hated going to school. I felt that school was boring; I almost never had homework, and skipped a lot of my senior year. I did not feel challenged. Then came the University scene. I had more homework on my first day of school then in 4 years in HS. I was not prepared; I blame myself for not trying harder, but more ...Expand for more
so the school for not preparing us.
I sometimes felt persecuted, alone, most of the time invisible. My happiest day was graduation, not because I did not have to go back to school like most would say, but because I felt I was finally noticed (if only for a brief moment in time). What was this event? I delivered a small bouquet of flowers to someone to brighten their day, and the word spread about what I had done. As I stood on the field I was being asked if I really brought someone flowers. Like many I had my HS crush on someone, although I never told her and that I regret. Although at the time I believed that she did not even notice me.
College
I found college the hardest thing I have even done. I was a full-time student, full-time worker, and for a year a care provider for terminally ill relatives. I saw dollar signs in the working world and wondered why am I here. Well I am glad I graduated because the dollar signs I saw were more like pennies when I got my first real job. I thank everyone for getting me to pursue a career and not a job. Although in the end I am still broke, just living much better than if I only got a job.
