Gary's Story
Life
After leaving school I went into the sevice. That was the best thing I could have ever done. It turned me completely around. I was doing some really stupid stuff with my life at that time. If you remember me, you know what I am talking about. When I got out, I came home, got married to my first wife. We had 2 beautiful daughters, then divorced. I have been married to my second wife for over 35 years. We have one son. I didn't graduate but do have a GED plus some college. I still live in Mineral Wells. I drive my own truck. I have been in and around the trucking industry all of my life. I have tried other things but always came back to trucking. I guess I am good at sitting on my butt and holding a steering wheel. I try to do my part to help keep Peterbilt in business. I do most of the work on them myself. When I first started I couldn't afford to have it done so I had to learn how to fix them. I don't mind getting a little dirty and greasy. It will wash off. For years I played music in and around M.W., the Metroplex, Austin, Abilene, San Angelo, Lubbock, all over Texas really. me, after my divorce, I traveled with a band all over the mid-central U.S. After that I played with one band for over twenty years. Being self employed, I could take time to do what I needed to do. I still play for special occasions and parties. I still write songs and record them. One of my old band members owns and operates a recording studio, so I get a "good deal" on studio time. Who knows, someday, someone may want to record one and make me some money. I do have a couple of pets, 1 horse and 1 dog. I live out in the country and wouldn't live anywhere else. I have two daughters, one son and five grand kids.I like going up to Possum Kingdom lake, which isn't far from my home. I have a lot of friends that live there. We get together several weekends a year and just hang out. Two of the guys I played in a band with for over twenty five years, one was killed in an auto accident, come up once a year and we have a reunion of sorts at Possum Kingdom. Drink a few beers, visit and do some guitar picking and FISHING. Any time I get close to the water I have to throw out a line. If you are interested in what I look like now, go to my Facebook page and look at the pictures. Hell, send me a friend request.
