Gary's Story
You know the universe has been good to you when you can look back on your life- pushing 69 -with a big smile on your face. My great fortune began when my parents adopted me and continues this day through my relationships with family and friends.
The friends, many of whom date back to Rose Hill Elementary, will be the focus of this dictation. Since we turned 50, we have reunited every so often to catch up on each other's lives, families, etc. and then turn our attention to memorializing what brought us together as a group. We fall into old habits, patterns and observations without missing a beat; I always marvel at our ability to reconnect. 10 individuals with a single purpose: to revel in the company, they are keeping at that exact moment.

e begun consuming. This builds the excitement and anticipation within the ranks en route.
This process originated with our forays into the Tidewater region during our high school and college years, where we stayed at Paul DeWitt's Blue Water Apartments in Virginia Beach the second to last week of August to "prepare" ourselves for the return to our various destinations for higher learning: Madison College, Radford, VA Tech, UVA and in one instance, the U.S. Naval Academy. But I digress....
This summer's destination is Nashville, TN- Music City. The long weekend will include a lot of music, baseball, golf (for some) and a whole lot of camaraderie, although it's never enough for the short time we're together. Pushing 69 we know how blessed we are still to have the opportunity to reconvene like we do, we have lost a lot of good friends over the years. Our Cottonwood Crew alone has lost several great guys, including: Scott Johnson, George Thompson and Billy Curry.
So the EHS 10 pushes ever forward. We are:
