Gary's Story
I attended Kent State University (1972-1974). The first year was good and the
second year not so much. Playing music took over and that kept me
busy for about 20 years.
I had a tragedy, as I'm sure many have. My first wife, Michelle, died in 1994 after a
long battle with Hodgkin's Disease. She died with dignity and grace, she was my
best friend. She had a sweet laugh and a great sense of humor. I still miss her after 22
years.
During her illness I attended the University of Akron while playing full-time
in a house band in Canton. I eventually got my degree one year after Michelle
passed away. I landed a job at a well-respected custom building enclosure company
in North Canton. I worked there for 15 years.

gree from John Carroll University. She
has 3 children and 4 grand kids. We bought a house in Munroe Falls in 2002.
In 2008 the economy tanked but didn't catch up to me until summer of 2010. I got laid-off
for the entire summer. Best summer of my life! I sold all my stuff...put the house
up for sale and planned the move to California. I went back to work until May of 2011.
I retired at 58 and moved to California.
Now we live in Mountain View. Close enough to everything so that a car is unnecessary.
I walk...ride my bike...take the bus and the train. Tons of places to eat and Trader Joe's are everywhere. The ocean is 40 minutes away and San Francisco is about 50 minutes by train.
. I still work on some projects mostly in the design phase. I'm enjoying my semi-retirement in an interesting place with virtually no winter and very little rain.
