Gary's Story
RETIRED: Jan. 2019
WORK: I was in the Banking/Finance field for 30+ years.
MARRIED: I married my high school sweetheart, Cheri. We will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary in August. (She's taught elementary school through university and ended her last 10 years of employment as an Executive Director)
CHILDREN: Our Daughter is now 44 and lives near us.
TRAVEL: Cheri & I have enjoyed traveling together & with family & friends. We have been to numerous states and a few countries (I.e.: Aruba, Bahamas, Curacao, Denmark, England, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Mexico, Russia, Turkey, Turks and Caicos … and more) We've also been on several cruises; we like the Royal Caribbean best. Cheri is my "travel motivator" and I am the "booking agent." lol Glad we traveled along the way and didn't wait until we were retired.
(See my wife's Facebook page for our travel photos...Expand for more
or update on me)
I'm looking forward to more adventures!!
MUSIC: I'm still rocking out & seeing concerts whenever they're available. (I couldn't list all that I've seen, but to mention a few: Air Supply, Alice Cooper, Beach Boys, Bob Segar, Doobie Brothers, Kenny & Dolly, Neil Diamond, ZZ Top, and more.)
GOD: My wife & friends say: "Gary, you're a walking miracle." I had heart surgery (doctors told my wife they didn't think I'd live), had a stroke (doctors told us I'd probably never talk or walk again), and had cancer (doctors said they weren't sure how my body could handle the chemo). Well, God healed my body (for the most part - I can walk & talk) and gave me another chance to be kinder to others and testify to His power.
If you were my friend in HS (and beyond) - thank you for making my life better.
If we didn't "click" or if I was rude to you - I apologize.
