Gary's Story

Life Since high school i enlisted in the navy and just retired. I have been to many countries and had many adventures in each of them. places like Germany, Sweden, Poland, Amsterdam, South Africa, Kenya, Persian Gulf x2, Rome x2, Bahamas (During spring break....enough said), Equador, Panama, and many more. If you have time and you know me please shoot me an E-Mail and i will write back. Take Care everyone. Updated May 27, 2004 Well due to my injuries from football i have now been medically retired from the US Navy after nearly 12 years of service. Oh well, 8 more and i would have finished my 20 years, but i quickly found out that i recieve the same benefits as if i finished out the 20. Sorry I missed the 10 year reunion. i should have stayed up to date on when it was going to be. When I checked to see when it would be, I sadly found out that it has passed. Hopefully we can have a 15 year reunion or something. I will not miss that one. Take care everyone. Updated November 6, 2004 I now work for Northrup Grumman down hear in St Augustine Florida. Instead of repairing Navy Jets I now build them. It is real exciting being on the other side of the Military. I still support our men and woman abroad. I was right there beside you at one time and would still be but God has a bigger plan for me. Hope all is well with everyone. Take care and God Bless. Updated April 21, 2005 Well, I guess being 30 and just now starting college cant be to bad. I mean, when i graduated high school the kids im going to be going to college with were still in diapers. Hope i can still keep up. I am now officially a full time student. My major will be Business Administration. Not my first choice but when the VA is paying for it all 100% I cant complain. I had to pick something i can complete in 4 years or they wont pay for it. Go Uncle Sam!!!! I know a lot of you are way ahead and finished college like 10 years ago but hey, your never to old to learn to read. I know ill have fun. If anyone knows why i shouldnt do business administration let me know now. Thanks to all who contacted me through classmates. Its fun keeping up with people. Take care all. updated 5/16/2006 well im still in college. yes i made it through my first year. woo hoo. only 3 more to go. this time i went the whole year without getting sent to the principals office or got a detention. im very proud of that. i went back to bouncing at a night club here in Jacksonville Florida. just until i graduate. i really do hope we have a 15 year reunion and hopefully ill remember this time. School School, huh, what a concept. The funny thing is, i was barely in class during our senior year. I signed up for the Navy in the beginning of the year so i knew all i had to do was pass. wish i would have done better because now i am about to start college and those grades now haunt me. So, they want to know how we felt in High Scho...Expand for more
ol. Well to tell you the truth i wish i layed it out on the line with the girls more. I held back asking girls out and of course i regret it. my biggest crush is now married i heard. I guess it wont hurt to put it since i am married as well. I guess the biggest crush i had was Kelly Spinella. Oh and of course Carolyn Buckshin. I had a few others along the way but those are the ones that stick out and im not to proud to say it. Its funny because i found out a few people had a crush on me but i was to clueless to see it. oh well, things happen for a reason. Thats what school is all about, cutting class and crush's. Take care everyone. Workplace Well, my biography, this is hard. I joined the military while still in High School and have just finished 11 1/2 years of service. I was retired early due to an ankle injury. Its good in a way but i kinda wanted to finish 20 years before i retired on my terms but sometimes life is not the way you plan. I can't complain to much about the military, it has brought me more than i could ever give back. I met my wife in Jacksonville Florida and would not have if not for the Military. I now have a 7 year old son and love him more than i ever thought i would before i had him. We are best friends. So far i cant complain about my life. I was able to play Semi-Pro Football and would not have if it were not for my wife. She found out about the team and told me i should try out for them. I did and made the team. Not only that i made the All-Star Team as a rookie. Unfortunately i did severely break my ankle prior to the All-Star game and had to take last season off from playing. The Navy said I am done from the Navy due to what they say as I am no longer shipboard ready which means technically i cant go on a boat because all it takes is one slip and i could dislocate my ankle going up and down the ladders. Oh well. Other than that im pretty happy with the way things are going. Military To tell you the truth, whatever the recruiter tells you is a lie. Plane and simple. If it werent for my Uncles being in the Navy and telling me the "REAL" Navy ways, i would have been in for a shock. The military has brought me my life. But as far as the military itself, too much B*** S*** for me. If i knew then what i know now, yes i would join again because it brought me a wonderful family, Discipline (if you knew me you would know i had ZERO discipline prior to), I saw the world 2 times over, met a wide variety of people, made life long friends, and most of all, from seeing what i saw from the Persian Gulf to Germany to South Africa i cant say this enough, I AM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!!!!! Please tell everyone you know how you feel about them, you may never know if you may get the chance ever again. Don't go through life wishing you said your feelings or wishing you spent more time with a certain person, do it now, you or they may be gone tomorrow and you may never get the chance again.
