Gary's Story
After graduating from BCHS, I attended EKU for two years as a music major. I then moved to Michigan to find work. I found work and my wife. In 1971 we returned to EKU for me to pursue degrees in Industrial Arts Education. My first teaching job was in Eddyville, KY. While there I was also a member of the Fire Department and the Rescue Squad. We then moved to Cartersville, GA where I taught untill retirement. My wife recently retired from being an elementary school principal. I have three beautiful daughters and six grandchildren. onda teaches here in Cartersville and her husband is the Youth Pastor at our church. They have three children. Laura is an Administrative Assistant at our church and her husband works for Home Depot at the corporate level.. They just had their first child. I'm still involved with music through playing in our church orchestra and for a few years played in a jazz band. I've been riding motorcycles since college and recently rode to Alaska. I'm also involved in missions through our church both domestic and foreign. I have been blessed to participate in trips to Thailand, Barbados, Africa three times, and the Vancover and London Olympics.
