Gary's Story
In August of this year I lost my wife of 40 years to cancer. It sure seems strange to be alone again. I have realized that life is too short and we must treat everyone with respect. If I have ever offended any of my classmates I am truly sorry and ask for your forgiveness. God bless you all.
I left Michigan in late 1965 to join the Navy. I was stationed in Jacksonville, Florida where I met and married my wife Eileen in 1968. We have 2 children Gary Jr. who will be 39 in August 2008 (married- no children) and Staci who will be 37 this year. Staci has provided us with 2 wonderful grandsons 4 yrs old and 17 months old.
I got out of the Navy in September 1969 and moved back to Warren for 9 months where I froze my tail off and we moved to West Palm Beach in July 1970. We lived in West Palm Beach until 1978 when we moved to the little town of Keystone Heights approximately 50 mile south of Jack...Expand for more
sonville where we raised out children and sent them out into the world. In 2001 we moved to Middleburg, Florida where I commute 30 miles to my work in Jacksonville. Eileen retired as a cosmetologist in 2003 after 37 hard years. She now enjoys our grandsons and taks care of me. I work for CH2M HILL a consulting engineering, and construction firm whre I am a project manager on ports and maritime design and construction projects. In Febuary 2008 I will have 30 years in with them and I'm beginning to think a little more seriously about retiring. When I can really enjoy the outdoors of Florida and fish and hunt when I want.
I attended MCCC when I was in Michigan, Palm Beach Junior College (Lake Worth, Florida), Santa Fe Community College (Gainesville, Florida)and graduated with my Bachelors Degree from the Univeristy of Phoenix in Jacksonville class of 2002. It took me a long time, but I made it!
