Gary's Story
I graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1974 and, after 6.5 years of trying to decide on a major, I graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 1981, with a degree in journalism. I am married to Kathy, who was originally from northwest Missouri, and we love traveling. After working in IT departments at Washington University for over two decades and Laclede Gas for nearly one decade, I retired at the beginning of 2016. ael, also have careers in IT. I have been seriously interested in astronomy since 1965. I have had ten books and numerous articles published from 1984 to the present. In retirement, I spend about 4-6 hours a day writing. I just signed a contract (2021) with Springer International to have new books published in 2023 and 2024. I was invited to fly on the NASA/Air Force Leonid MAC mission in November 1999, where we studied the Leonid meteor shower while flying over Europe.
