Gary's Story
Life
It's been a fast 20 years and then some! I retired from the Air Force Nov. 1, 2006 (20 years, 2 months, and 27 days). After a career that took me all over the world, my family and I live in Kenosha, Wisconsin. I'm a writer and columnist for the Kenosha News.

I'm a retired U.S. Air Force master sergeant whose last assignment was Great Lakes Naval Training Station in North Chicago....Expand for more
My overseas assignments include Osan Air Base, Korea; Al Minhad Air Base, United Arab Emirates; Misawa Air Base, Japan; and an assignment to European Stars and Stripes where I worked out of Darmstadt, Germany; Bosnia; Kosovo; and Aviano Air Base, Italy. Of all the places I've been, Italy has been my favorite. I've also been assigned to Randolph Air Force Base, Texas; and Hill Air Force Base, Utah.
