Gary's Story
Life
Hi everyone, it is great to be alive and still kicking, I love God and all the people around me, from 1961 till now, I served in U.S.Navy/Navel Rerserve, (1960-1966) took up Engineering. at Tampa Technical Inst. worked at Barker Mfg, in Tampa, Florida, after being bought out by Feco, I then moved from Tampa/Brandon to Cleveland, Ohio then-back to Orlando, Florida where I went to work for Starline Mfg, as the Engineering Manager, Left them to open my own Manufacturing Business, Custom Machinery Inc. from 77-84, Went back to work for Starline Mfg, as there Engineering Manager, they were then bought out by Fleetwood Systems Inc,, where I stayed on as Applications Engineering Manager until my replacement finally showed up a few years latter, I'm now a Design Engineer ( going on 15 years) for Smurfit-Stone Packaging Systems Inc, In Orlando, FL. Brandon High School, Tampa Technical Inst, and Michigan State rounds out my Education, along with the United States Navy, and 45 years as an Mechanical Engineer.
College

kills, where I've worked as a Design Engineer most of my life, I've assisted in a lot of designs, including the first Aluminum can line for Kiaser Alum, I've designed equipment that has tuned Copper to gold, and have many Patented Item's. My list goes on and on, I'm proud of what I do.
Workplace
Presently, I'm a project design & application Engineer for Smurfit-Stone Packaging Systems, going on 15 yr's now, the company is largest box company in the world, with our packaging/design group in Orlando, I started in the 60's for Barker Mfg. In Tampa, After finishing at Tampa Technical Inst. I worked as a draftsman. blue print operator, then as a designer and checkers, and finally as the chief engineer, The company moved to Cleveland, Ohio in the 70's and merged with FECO, after about two years of engineering and sales, I moved to Orlando, Florida, as chief engineer and sales manager, for Starline Mfg, which later became Fleetwood Systems, in between that I had my own Business, Custom Machinery Inc. that went belly up in 1984, After Fleetwood, I worked as chief engineer for Sardee Industries, in Orlando, Florida. take time to visit my photo album here and on line, at landingship.com look for LST-722. enjoy.
