Gary's Story

Hi there! First of all, I took a year off in 1973 to work and travel, so if you graduated West Hunber in 1972 (4-year) or 1973 or 1974 then we may know each other! I left Toronto in 1975 and moved to St. John's Newfoundland. Got married there and then moved to Halifax, where we lived for 5 years, had our first child and bought our first house -- at a 15% interest rate!!! art consulting company called Quasar Systems Ltd, which a few years later changed it's name to Cognos and became Canada's largest (and arguably most successful) independent software products company. Independent, that is, until 2008 when we were acquired by IBM. In 1980 I moved to Ottawa and have been living here ever since. I have 3 daughters: Erika (age 28 and married last year), Monica (25) and Jessica (23). Looking forward to reconnecting with those of you who may remember me!
