Gary's Story
Hello,
I see a few names here I remember, and some I've emailed in the past 10 years or so. (Hello Tony, Carol) I decided to join the club...you know at some point my haunted and goofy past is going to catch up.
Some of you might remember that picture of me. That was taken by Brian Plante in front of the Industrial Arts photo lab in 1970. What a punk, right?
The other picture isn't even what I look like today - that was 9 years ago. At dinner with the family for Darby's graduation in 2012. (B.Sc-Food Science) and we had Dagan's 2 years later (B.Arts - Education) I made sure those kids didn't tread down my path.
A lot has changed over the years. I still cruise by - and sometimes even cycle to St.Edmunds and sit in the field along the west wall with Dagan. Some memories to be sure. I can still picture those days, playing soccer, getting beat up...ahhhh yes. And all those red hands from the strap. Thanks Mr. Smecher. Your right bicep grew 2" be...Expand for more
cause of me.
I only went to O'Leary about 6 months before I took a walk and never went back - until Alberta College in 1985, where I finished high school, went on to NAIT and graduated in 1989 from Electronics Engineering Technology. Some of you might remember I always tinkered with electronics, occasionally electrocuting myself with my hands jammed in the back of those nasty tube TV's. Nothing's changed, although the electrocutions are much fewer, thank God. It caused sever hair loss as you can tell by my family picture!
I now own a business designing and building custom embedded electronics and control systems.
I have 2 grandchildren, and I am trying my best to make sure they are not nearly the trouble maker I was. (as I did with Darby and Dagan)
When I have a few more minutes I want to check out some of the posts from everyone here, I am sure it will be interesting to see the faces, names and posts!
Do stay in touch - send me a message.
