Gary's Story
Life
After Plantation High, I attended Broward Junior College and then graduated from the Florida Atlantic University in 1971.
In 1972, I joined the Navy and began flight training. I was designated as a Naval Aviator in 1974.
My first tour was at VRC-50 flying C2-A aircraft from seven different aircraft carriers.
My second tour was shore duty at a bombing range located near Fallon, Nevada.
The third tour was flying C-130s out of VR-24 at NS Rota, Spain.
In 1982, I joined VXE-6 where we flew LC-130 ski aircraft in Antarctica.
Next, I was assigned to the Pacific Missi...Expand for more
le Test Center at NAS Point Mugu, California. There, I was Project Officer for an experimental RPV designed to fly over the horizon.
In 1986, I began a tour at NAS Agana, Guam. I was the Operations Officer and flew C-12B aircraft around the Pacific Islands.
My twilight tour was at NAS Key West, Florida. I was the Aviation Safety Officer and the senior flight instructor for the C-12B.
In 1993, I retired as a Lieutenant Commander with almost 21 years service. Presently, I live in Crystal River, Florida. I am single; enjoy gardening, reading and playing with computers.
