Gary's Story

Life I am the father of one red-headed spitfire of a 4 year old boy named Jacob Dylan. My wife and I were together 10 years. We decided to separate in 2003. We remain good friends, sharing the raising of our son Jake. I work in the oil industry for the world's 6th largest oilfield services firm. I compile proposals to engineer and build rigs all around the world for the biggest players in the oil business. In my spare time I read, watch movies, listen to jazz/blues/rock music and create digital paintings on the computer (see some of my creations at "app.tabblo.com/studio/stories/view/34665/", "app.tabb...Expand for more

I also do web and graphic design as a sideline, and hope to eventually parlay my skills into a fulltime replacement for my job. I'm much smarter and more sophisticated than I was in my youth, but I still have a vestige of that young, enthusiastic dork deep down inside. I'm more philosophical and "big picture" than I used to be, caring much more about my fellow man and actually doing things to help them. On balance, I'm more comfortable in my skin than I was long ago.
