Gary White:

CLASS OF 1952
Burnaby, BC

Gary's Story

First, let me apologize for not remembering much about my experience at McPherson Park. I spent only one year there the first year it opened, and very few students chose to befriend me. I was at Burnaby South Elementary School at Sussex and Kingsway (I think). In 1952, I left Burnaby when my parents and I emigrated to San Diego, California. I attended San Diego High (1955), San Diego State University (1961) and spent 20 years in the U.S Air Force and attended the University of Southern California and Texas A&M University. My wife, Sue and I celebrated our 58th wedding anniversary 2 February, 2016. While in the Air Force, stationed in a now defunct Hamilton AFB, I accompanied a friend to a city North of us and sat for graduate school and management exams. rnia admitted me on probation (despite terrible results on the GRE). As a result, I earned a MS in Systems Management. After my retirement from the USAF, I entered Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas and earned a PhD in Adult and Continuing Education. In May, 2015, my older grandson graduated from Texas A&M Galveston, Texas. He earned a BS In Maritime Technology and Engineering. My oldest granddaughter will earn her Texas Aggie Ring in May, 2016. She will graduate with a BS in Microbiology. Three other grandchildren are healthy and happy. Our two children (1 girl and 2 boys) are also happily married. If any one has a clue about me, please let me know. Two names I remember from grade school are Marilyn Fowler and Eileen Jang. Garwood Hawks also was at Burnaby South.
